As NICA Ambassador for the City of Longevity programme, developed by the UK’s National Innovation Centre for Ageing, I took part in the second international meet-up of the initiative, held on 8 November 2023 at the Mercat de Sant Antoni in Barcelona, in collaboration with the City of Barcelona.
The event was part of NICA’s broader presence at the Smart City Expo World Congress, where the City of Longevity project was presented to an audience of more than 25,000 participants from 800 cities worldwide. The Barcelona Meet-Up brought together the founder members of the global community, delegates from Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Cremona, Newcastle, and Berlin, to discuss progress, perspectives, and how to turn the City of Longevity framework into an operational model for urban governance and longevity policy.
